In this section, we will explain the privacy aspects and terms of use associated with the specified social networks and the plugins used for them.

Use of social media buttons with "Shariff"

Our website uses Shariff, a project of c't magazine. "Shariff" replaces the usual share buttons for social networks, thereby keeping your online behavior private. "Shariff" incorporates these social network share buttons into our website as simple icons containing links to the relevant social networks. Clicking an icon takes you to the service of the network in question. A Shariff button does not establish direct contact between a social network and our visitors until those visitors actively click the share button. Only then will their data be transmitted to the respective social network. However, if a user does not click the Shariff button, no data will be exchanged between that user and the social network. More information on the c't "Shariff" project can be found at http://heise.de/-2467514. Our website links to the following social networks with "Shariff":

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • Xing

By activating the respective social media buttons you agree to the processing of your data by the respective network in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. By deactivating the buttons you stop the transfer of your data.

Use of Facebook plugins

On our website, we use social plugins ("plugins") from social network www.facebook.com, operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook"). When you access Facebook via the Shariff button, your browser will establish a direct connection to the Facebook servers. Facebook will transfer the content of the plugin directly to your browser, which will integrate it into the website. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data that Facebook collects with the aid of this plugin and will therefore inform you to the best of our knowledge, which is that by embedding the plugin, Facebook receives information stating that a user has accessed the corresponding web page. If that user is logged in to Facebook, Facebook can link the visit to the user's Facebook account. When a user interacts with the plugins, such as by clicking the Like button or posting a comment, the browser sends the relevant information directly to Facebook, which stores it. If a user does not have a Facebook account, it is still possible for Facebook to find out and save that user's IP address. According to Facebook, only anonymized IP addresses are saved in Germany. You can read Facebook's privacy policy to find out about the data that is collected and how it is used and shared by Facebook, as well as the related rights and settings options for protecting user privacy. If you have a Facebook account and do not wish Facebook to collect information about you and link it to your account data stored by Facebook, you will need to log out of Facebook before visiting our website. You can configure other settings and preferences concerning the use of data for advertising purposes via your Facebook profile settings: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads.

Use of Twitter plugins

Our website uses buttons from the Twitter service. These buttons are offered by Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. They are identifiable by words such as "Twitter" or "Follow" combined with a stylized blue bird. Using the buttons, it is possible to share an article or page from this website on Twitter. When you access Twitter via the Shariff button, your browser will establish a direct connection to the Twitter servers. Twitter will transfer the content accessed through the Twitter button directly to your browser. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data that Twitter collects with the aid of this plugin. According to Twitter, only the user's IP address and the URL of the website in question will be transmitted when the button is used, but they will not be used for purposes other than displaying the button. You can find further information on this subject in Twitter's privacy policy at http://twitter.com/privacy

Use of LinkedIn plugins

Our website uses buttons from the LinkedIn business-focused social network. These buttons are offered by the LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, hereinafter referred to as "LinkedIn". They are identifiable by words such as "Share" or "Recommend" combined with the LinkedIn logo. Using the buttons, it is possible to share an article or page from this website on LinkedIn. When you access LinkedIn via the Shariff button, your browser will establish a direct connection to the LinkedIn servers. LinkedIn will transfer the content accessed through the LinkedIn button directly to your browser. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data that LinkedIn collects with the aid of this plugin. According to LinkedIn, no personal data will be collected unless you click the button. Only when users are logged in to their accounts with the social network will such data, including their IP addresses, be collected and processed. You can find further information on this subject in LinkedIn's privacy policy at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Use of XING plugins

Our website uses buttons from the XING business-focused social network. These buttons are offered by XING AG, Dammtorstrasse 29–32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany, hereinafter referred to as "XING". They are identifiable by words such as "Share" or "Recommend" combined with a stylized X. Using the buttons, it is possible to share an article or page from this website on XING. When you access XING via the Shariff button, your browser will establish a direct connection to the XING servers. XING will transfer the content accessed through the XING button directly to your browser. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data that XING collects with the aid of this plugin. According to XING, no personal data will be collected unless you click the button. Only when users are logged in to their accounts with the social network will such data, including their IP addresses, be collected and processed. You can find further information on the subject in XING's privacy policy at https://www.xing.com/privacy.

We process the following categories of data:

  • Communications data (e. g. last name, first name, e-mail, telephone number, address)

  • Project data

Purpose and legal basis for the processing:

The PROTEMA Group stores your personal data in order to be able to contact you in the context of concluded, existing, or planned contracts or to be able to perform the contractually agreed service. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR.

If the processing of your data is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR, you can object to data processing at any time with future effect. We will then halt the processing of your data unless we can prove the existence of mandatory grounds for continued processing that are worthy of protection pursuant to statutory requirements that take precedence over your rights. If you would like to do so, please contact us.

Categories of recipients of data:

Your data will only be processed within the PROTEMA Group. When this occurs, the data will only be made available to selected employees. If you are our contract person for billing, your data will be shared with our tax office and accounting department. If necessary, the data will be shared with external service providers if you encounter our security service in the facilities of the PROTEMA Group or submit a false alarm. We will also grant access to your personal data as needed in the context of audits. If a statutory obligation to do so exists, we will share your data with authorities.

Transmission of data:

We will not forward your data to third countries or to any international organizations. “Third countries” refers either to countries outside the EU or countries with a lower level of data protection than the EU. If the PROTEMA Group employs the services of third parties domiciled outside the EU in the context of your project, then the PROTEMA Group shall be in possession of the corresponding data protection guarantees.

Duration and basis of data storage:

Your data will be stored for ten years after termination of the business relationship. The basis for this is the requirements of financial and tax law. If your data is collected by our security service because you were encountered in the facilities of the PROTEMA Group, this data will be stored for three months. In the event of a submission of a false alarm, the data collected will be stored for five years. In order to assert or defend legal claims, the storage period may potentially be extended by the duration of the retention period in the context of the proceedings.

There is no statutory obligation to provide data on your part.

You possess various rights by law:

  • We must provide you with information on your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR).

  • We must correct your data if it should prove incorrect (Art. 16 GDPR).

  • We must delete your data if you request that it be deleted and if doing so is legally permissible (Art. 17 GDPR).

  • Subject to certain preconditions, we must restrict the processing of your data. You must contact us for this purpose accordingly (Art. 18 GDPR).

  • You can lodge an objection to the use of your data. We will then no longer be permitted to use your data for the specified purpose (Art. 21 GDPR).

  • You can transfer your data from us to another provider (Art. 20 GDPR).

  • You can withdraw your consent to our processing of your data. We will then no longer be permitted to use your data in the future (Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR).
